Artistic leader and director of  ZID Theater
Karolina Spaic (Yugoslavia, 1963). After a training in classical ballet and a study in literature, she graduated from the International Theatre Department at the Arts Academy (HKU) in Utrecht in 1988. She has since directed many performances in the Netherlands and former Yugoslavia. In her work she combines elements from a variety of disciplines: physical theatre, performance art and media. From 1995 until 2005, she took part in a specialisation study in theatre anthropology at the International School of Theatre Anthropology (ISTA) under Eugenio Barba. Theatre anthropology explores both non-western and western styles of physical theatre and dance styles. Ms.Spaic has published articles in several countries and her texts have been included in a number of books. In 1991 she established the ZID Foundation, where she all performances by ZID Theater. The best examples of these are  Dictionary of Nomads (2001), Vincent & I (2004) and HOME-X (2005), all performances that were internationally acclaimed at various theatre festivals and theatres abroad. She also teaches workshops and training classes in physical and multimedia theatre, both in the Netherlands and abroad. She is member of The Magdalena Project – an international network of woman in contemporary theatre. The tenth volume of The Open Page - A journal of women's thoughts, questions and visions for theatre was published in March 2005, under the titel "Theatre Woman Milestone". Karolina Spaic wrote an article for it called: "An eye on the future". (www.theopenpage.org)

 Artistic co-director and Actor
Sebo Bakker (the Netherlands, 1964) has studied at the Mime School in Amsterdam and at the Sonia Moore Theatre School in New York. He joined ZID Theater in 1992, participating in all of the group’s performances since then. Besides being in ZID Theater he appeared in several productions and films, including the international production Universal Copyrights 1 and 9 by Jan Fabre (Paris, Vienna, New York, 1995-1997) and a number of short films, such as Arend (1992) and Humming Wires (1996) (the opening film at the Rotterdam Film Festival '99) by David Haneke. Sebo Bakker attended several master classes in physical acting. He was one of the few actors to receive a grant from the Dutch Performance Arts Fund to attend Yoshi Oida’s workshop. Besides being active as an actor and performer Sebo Bakker regularly leads trainings and workshops in physical theatre for professionals, young people and children, both in the Netherlands and abroad. Besides the performance Vincent & I by Zid Theater, a solo performance based on a text by Jan Fabre, which is still presented in the Netherlands and abroad, he also plays in the performance Invisitors Vista by the Japanese choreographer Kenzo Kusuda.
